EBOOKS LAYOUT SERVICE
If you want to publish your work on any of the various platforms that exist for it, you will need your book to be correctly structured. It is what is known as eBooks layout. This will allow those who read it to enjoy an agile, comfortable and rewarding reading. A poorly laid out book, even a very good one, can be unpleasant to read and therefore more difficult to get good reviews.
Once it has been laid out, including the cover, you can put it up for sale on the aforementioned platforms, keeping your copyright.
The layout service includes the conversion of the text and what is known as a standard cover – on a coloured background, the title of the work and the name of the author are put – either the cover that you have designed or the one that you commission us to design .
The images it contains, if any, and possible footnotes will also be included and properly distributed.
Once the complete layout work is done, it will be converted to the appropriate formats to be included in the sales platforms.
FORMATS AND PLATFORMS
These formats are: epub for most platforms and mobi for Amazon. The cover file -standard or made by us- will be delivered in jpg format.
Most e-reader devices and applications like Apple’s iBooks and Noble’s Nook, Adobe Digital Editions, Aldiko, and Android among others – a total of nearly 300 – have support for .epub files. It is not currently supported on Amazon Kindle readers that use another format (.mobi).
MOBI or mobipocket is another open standard for publishing e-books. It was bought by Amazon and works with their Kindle readers. E-books in this format have the extension .mobi.
Once our work is finished, we will deliver it to you in the aforementioned formats and if you wish, we can also take care of publishing it on some platforms. You can see this service on our page «Publish on Platforms»
Material that you must provide us to carry out the layout work:
- Book text in a file in Word format (doc or docx) or in Openoffice format (odt).
- The service includes the design of a standard cover. In the event that you already have a cover for the book, you must also send this material to be able to use it in the eBook. Remember that if you wish, we can also make the cover design.
- Book description text (synopsis). It is the text that eBook sales portals like Amazon use to describe it. It is important to write it in an attractive way, thinking that it will be the claim so that potential readers are encouraged to acquire it. (Maximum 4,000 characters).
